Other Games You decide: Portal Speedrun; yes or no?

If you know me well, you should know that I am a HUGE fan of a popular puzzle game called "Portal". I already explained what Portal is in another thread, so I'm not gonna do that again. :P

Anyways, I had the idea of speedrunning through the original game (And possibly Portal 2 as well), because I've played it so many times now, and I feel like it would be cool to challenge myself and see how quickly I could run it from start to finish.

...And in recording it, you guys could laugh at how much I suck see how awesome I am at thinking with portals. :3

Also, I've been doing some research, and it looks like the fastest run of Portal ever recorded was in 2012; about 8 minutes and a half using glitches.
The fastest runs without glitch exploitation are usually around 20 minutes long.
I'm not sure if I'll use glitches or not, but either way, I have a lot to live up to for this. o_O

 

I've been a fan of valve since 2010 because of portal, now I'm into portal 2 :D

What's gonna be you're goal time?

 

My goal is to get the best time I can. I'm hoping to complete the game as quickly as possible.
I think I'm going to do it legit, though. As in, no "out of bounds" glitches.

 

What about the 'new' portal game that was just Greenlit?

 

You would have to beat Sourceruns Team 0:0:9:12 wich was set on 2012 - 16 - 07, using large skip glitches.

Id go for a any% sub 15 if I was you! Unless you are really good in it and manage sub 9 c:

That game isn't even out yet. I'd have to play it first.
I'd speedrun the demo, but that got pushed back 3 months because of all the conflicts between Russia and Ukraine (Most of the team for that mod come from there).

Actually, the record for quickest time was 0:0:8:12, and I don't know if I'm going to do that well.
Saw their first run. It was crazy.
Besides, I don't think I'll be using all those insane glitches.
I dunno. I feel like I should do it 100% legit (glitches aren't completely legit IMO).
Mayyybe I'll use a couple of puzzle shortcuts if I find any, but no ridiculous "Flying around outside the map" stuff. :p
EDIT: I feel like I should add that I'm not doing this RIGHT away. I fell like I'm going to do the serious run sometime mid-april after I spend some time memorizing the puzzles, finding quick ways to solve them without noclip glitches, and other crap like that. :p
