Photography, anyone?

Hello! It's me again.

I'm a huge photography fan. I adore photography. I'm trying to pursue it as my life career, too. I always keep my eye out in public to see, if something is worth being captured in my camera lens.

A wee disclaimer - I know my photos aren't perfect, some can be rough around the edges, I know that myself.

Now, there must be someone else in this community who loves photography as much as I do. If not more, if not less. It doesn't matter. I want to see what others have created and see how we compare to each other. This isn't a competition, but I want to see other people's creations. Post one of the pictures you have taken that you're proud of, no hold backs. :P

The following three pictures have been taken by me, duuh. But you will be able to see, that you don't need expensive cameras, lenses, tripods, expensive software and so on. All you need is one thing, and that's your smartphone. It doesn't matter how old it is, as long as the camera works. These photos were taken and edited purely on my Huawei P10 using Google's Snapseed software. This phone has a 20 megapixel camera lens (and a 12 megapixel 'monochrome' - which basically means black and white - lens), which basically any phone released in the past year and a half is most likely to feature.

Just showing what can be done with free, simple software and nothing more with a smartphone camera. I tend to stay away from HDR, because in editing, it exposes too much detail, in my opinion.

Any photo could use editing, but most of the time the rawness of the photo is better than the perfection of editing it. but that's just my personal opinion :)

 

I couldn't agree with you more. You know the photo with the purple sky? That one looks just as good as the edited one, but it's a bit brighter than the one posted on Instagram. :P

 

I love these photos! I love photos like these so much! Sunsets and all that can look so beautiful and you're right about not needing an expensive camera to take these kinds of photos, I even love taking my own. It's the little things like POV photos I really like.

 

I know the one on instagram you are talking about but which one is the other one (btw the purple sky isn't edited, in that way, I just messed around with the settings on my camera before taking it (which some people still count as editing so idk)

 

I'm always the "photographer" of the family when we go on trips. I'm pretty proud of these pictures. Most of them are taken in Toronto, and a few in Pennsylvania.
