New Hub

1st of November, 2021
Hey fans,
As most of you know we have spent a lot of time designing a new hub. Today, we release that hub to the public.
The intent of the new design is to make it easier to navigate to the various mini-games by making them all easily accessible while also still having a wonderful hub world to explore. The hub features a lot of new surprises waiting to be discovered, including several statues that pay tribute to a lot of the minecraft mobs :)
Hub was built by:
@Heatdude Da Waffle
@Buck
@xLucyy
@t3mptr3s
@Apex_SkyShadow
It's design is intended to be similar to an older IJAH hub as a throwback with all mini-games visible and accessible from a portal with the games that exist in the lobby added in with their own mini-hub areas. We hope this makes the games easier to navigate to, parkour maps easier to access, spleef more enjoyable and with an awesome new look for the server.
Enjoy :)
As usual, please post any bugs you find in the Report Bugs section on the forums.

ONE IN THE CHAMBER
Friday the 23rd of July, 2021
Hey fans,Friday the 23rd of July, 2021
It's been public knowledge for a bit now that an OITC update was going to be happening. Well, here it is! Ever since the last OITC update, there has been ongoing conversation about what the future holds for OITC. With our shrinking player base it was obvious that changes are only beneficial if they make the game more entertaining for a smaller core of players. Let's just say... Mission accomplished.
The Big Stuff
- Gunfight Game Mode
- 2 v 2 team-based matches where your goal is to eliminate the enemy team. First team to 3 victories wins!
- Elimination Game Mode
- Last Man Standing wins. You only get 1 life. Death removes you from the match.
- Unranked Game Mode has been re-added
- MAPS aplenty - 3 new, 7 returned, 2 renovated
- All removed maps returned (Uplink, WMD, Drone, Vertigo, Plaza, Meltdown, Grind)
- Nuketown has been updated to reflect the Nuketown2025 build
- Rust has been reduced in size for better playability
- (New) Havana
- (New) Nacht der Untoten
- (New) Airfield
- Death has been revamped with a new visual effect (for the dead).
- In gunfight, you are able to fly around and otherwise "spectate" the match after death
- Dead bodies no longer exist and cannot block arrows
- /oitc stats <type> [player]
- Allows you to check the game stats of a player for any mode.
- "Type" is the game mode of choice (Unranked, Ranked, Duel, Gunfight, Elimination) - required
- "Player" is the username of the person you want stats on - not required
- Stats also list the last 5 matches like duelstats did for each mode with a new view of who was in the room and the kills/deaths of the player for that match.
- /oitc host <type>
- Formerly was only for tournaments. Now, you can host your own private match and invite only the people you want to play with!
- Hosting of Ranked matches is not possible
- Hosting of matches does cost 250 coins except Duel, which is free
- Hosting of tournaments no longer requires 1700+ elo. Instead, it costs 1,000 coins
- Private matches do not count toward any of your stats (games, wins, kills, deaths, exp, etc)
- Sword Damage from dead players (long time bug) has been fixed (I know, legendary)
The Little Stuff (No one cares about)
- Map Stats are now tracked and used to offer the chance to play the most popular map of each mode
- Amount of times played
- Amount of times votes resulted in change TO this map
- Amount of times votes resulted in change FROM this map
- Most popular map by default for all modes is Nuketown until stats are built up
- If the chosen map is the most popular, you still get 4 different maps to choose from in the map selector menu
- Gunfight is first to 3 wins with a max of 7 rounds (to account for draws).
- Each round spawn points alternate sides so no team has an innate advantage
- Previously death actually killed your character and respawned you. This no longer happens. Instead, a player that is about to die is blinded, and prepped for respawn, unable to interact with the world.
- Please, don't abuse the freedom offered with this spectate mode in gunfight by leaving the map... We will remove the ability to fly if abused.
- Experience and Coins can now be gained on all game modes, but the value earned is different for each mode. Ranked, naturally, provides the highest rewards.
- Future Updates ARE planned.
- This update came with no changes to cosmetics, primarily so that the OITC community could enjoy the new game modes without waiting. As a result, we've planned future updates which will offer new cosmetic changes, new maps, and more, to come out over time.
- Future updates do not have a set time schedule, but we aim to release something new every month!
- Rooms are no longer dedicated to specific game types
- Right now, 1-5 are Duel only, 6-15 are ranked only. Instead, rooms are claimed by the new queue system so that every mode has an open lobby and unused rooms are unclaimed. That means if no one plays Unranked, then only 1 room belongs to unranked, whereas 10 might be claimed by gunfight. This allows dynamic use of rooms so that running out of rooms should no longer be an issue.
- This change also allows room signs to be fully visible again. You no longer have to wonder if anyone is playing or what's being played. You can see it!
- Player names, level and elo were removed from join messages to make joining matches anonymous.
- The (rare) bug that caused you to spawn in a random spot in an OITC world when you are not in a match has been fixed.
- Ability to open Furnaces and Chests throughout a map has been disabled
- Coins in the server store increased from 1,000 to 5,000 per purchase.
- Some, but not all, methods to escape maps have been patched.
- Fixed a bug where if you have left a match, you still get the firework effect when match ends
- Updates were tested by staff and the feedback team and all known bugs have been patched
- Credit to Feedback team for talking over all of the changes and helping produce the update
- Big Credit to @Trevor whom helped patch builds, identified all spawn points for all returned maps, all gunfight spawns, and was involved in a lot of the update process + debugging
As usual, please post any bugs you find in the Report Bugs section on the forums.
